My Forever Studio: Laurence Guy’s trick for a warm mix

Laurence Guy is a UK-based electronic music producer and DJ known for his deep, summery, sample-heavy house grooves usually associated with the likes of Axel Boman, Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist’s label, Studio Barnhus. He’s also released on Shall Not Fade, and on Japanese label Mule Musiq. He’s a dedicated record digger, too, and is always keen to inject his finds as samples into his music or share them in his many DJ sets around the world.
Guy gained critical acclaim with his 2017 debut album Saw You For The First Time, on which the smooth, sax-laden lead track has now racked up nearly 20 million streams on Spotify. More recent singles, such as My Heart Still Leans On You feature skittish beats and home-recorded piano, which you’ll hear more about in the episode and his recent collaboration with Barry Can’t Swim is a smash hit.
